FC Bayern is fighting for Alphonso Davies.

If the worst comes to the worst, the record champions don't want to let the Canadian go short.

Munich – Alphonso Davies is back.

After straining his inner knee ligament, the Canadian returns to the Bayern squad against SC Freiburg.

According to

tz

information, Davies is even keen on a starting eleven comeback after a four-week injury break.

However, it is still unclear whether Thomas Tuchel will fulfill his wish.

Davies courted by Real Madrid

The two will part ways in the summer at the latest.

Tuchel and FC Bayern agreed last week to terminate their contract after the season.

And Davies?

The Canadian has been linked to Real Madrid for months.

The Royals are said to have Davies at the top of their wish list along with Kylian Mbappé.

However, Bayern are still fighting for their key player and want to extend the contract, which is valid until 2025.

FC Bayern probably doesn't want to sell Davies short

“We are in discussions with his advisor.

We'll see how complicated these become," explained CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen when introducing sports director Max Eberl.

Davies is said to be demanding an annual salary of up to 20 million euros in the event of an extension.

Too much for Bayern!

According to

Bild

information, it is now assumed internally that it is hardly possible to keep the left-back on Säbener Straße.

But the Bayern bosses don't want to give away the super talent they discovered themselves.

According to

Bild,

the record champions are only willing to let Davies go if a club puts a transfer fee of 70 million euros on the table!

This is also the current market value (according to

transfermarkt.de

) of the Canadian.

It would be the most expensive departure in Munich's history!

However, it is unlikely that Real will pay this amount given that the contract expires in 2025.

Spaniards report: Real have probably already made their first offer

The Spanish radio station

Cadena SER

reports an initial Madrid offer of 35 million euros.

According to the Spaniards, the Royal team's pain threshold should be 50 million euros.

That would probably not be enough for Bayern.

What's particularly spicy about the story is that, according to Bild

information , Davies is said to

have largely agreed with the then sports director Hasan Salihamidžić at the beginning of 2023 about a contract extension - for a salary of around 12 million euros per year.

The ex-Bayern boss had to pack his bags after the season, after which talks with the Canadian were probably on hold until a few weeks ago.

It's quite possible that Bayern are now too late... (
