FC Bayern's U19s reached the quarter-finals of the Youth League for the first time on Wednesday.
Coach René Marić is happy about that, but sees room for improvement.

“The first half was good, the second half was not good,” said Bayern coach René Marić (31), analyzing his U19’s 3-2 win against Feyenoord Rotterdam on Wednesday.
With the win against the Dutch, Munich moved into the quarter-finals of the Youth League for the first time.
The opponent there is Olympiakos Piraeus (March 12th or 13th).
But Marić didn't want to burst into cheers.
The Austrian is not primarily concerned with results.
He wants to further develop the talent.
That's why - in true Mia-san-mia style - he clearly states where he sees potential for improvement, even if he's successful.
On the team that allowed Feyenoord to get close after a three-goal lead at the break, but also on themselves.
Bayern U19 coach Marić: “We have to manage to play our game”
“It's the second time we haven't managed to get our football on the field for 90 minutes,” said Marić.
“But with the first 45 minutes, with the boys' willingness to accept the game, to deal with their own problems and with the coach giving help again ten minutes late - the boys are doing a good job.
However, we have to manage to play our game.”
Noticeable: Marić, who, in addition to his work as team leader for coaching development and game philosophy on campus, has also been working as a U19 coach since the beginning of February, is passionate about his job.
He was very active on the sidelines against Feyenoord.

“I have been a trainer in the amateur sector since 2009/10.
It's what I enjoy, what I love.
That’s probably why you can see it in my face,” explained Marić, whose coaching role model is Ernst Happel.
"I like challenges.
I like working with the guys.
A great group.”
Sports director Christoph Freund (46) is also happy: “René is bursting with energy, brings a lot of know-how and is well received by the boys.
He also has his share, but there is good work going on across the entire campus.”
