At just 18 years old, Alessia Bösch surprisingly announced her retirement.
Now the Swiss woman wants to give her childhood dream a second chance.
Munich – Alessia Bösch had just come of age when she already lost all energy to survive in the highly competitive ski circus.
The pressure to perform became too great and despite success, the Swiss woman didn't enjoy her job.
She finally pulled the trigger and announced her retirement at just 18 years old.
Around three years later, there are now signs of her retirement from skiing.
Bösch wants to go back to the ski circus: “My childhood dream continues”
“My childhood dream continues,” can be read under a video by Bösch that was published on Instagram at the end of February.
“Almost three years after my last race and a solo backpacking trip around the world, I'm back at it again.” In the moving images, Bösch can be seen as a small child on skis, smiling and full of joy.
In the video, she also shares pictures as a growing ski star.

Swiss woman is working on her comeback
The Swiss was able to celebrate early successes, including becoming Swiss champion in the Super-G in 2021 and taking second place in the combination.
She has also already won two victories in the giant slalom and super-G.
But then came the surprising withdrawal from the winter sports scene.
The pressure was simply too much for the then 18-year-old.
Now the now 20-year-old wants to attack again and fight for her dream as a ski star.
In one of her last Instagram posts you can see Bösch working on her comeback: preparing the skis, strength and coordination exercises and finally pictures of Bösch on the skis while training on the slopes - the full program.
Bösch on returning to skiing: “My mindset has changed”
“I want to get back into competitive sports.
“I want to know how I can overcome this challenge and how far the path will take me,” the Engelberg native is
quoted as saying on the Swiss portal
nau.ch.
“My mindset has changed.
And I am confident that I can meet the demands of competitive sport today.” However, it is still unclear when the ski talent will make her official comeback.
Meanwhile, Sonja Gigler's return to the slopes was dramatic - the Austrian tore her cruciate ligament again a year after her serious injury.
