Conclusion

: Andreas Wellinger secures his next podium place and moves closer to Stefan Kraft.

The rest of the German team showed improvement, but were still unable to get close to the world leaders.

2nd round

: Now it's up to Marius Lindvik.

But the Norwegian doesn't make it over the green line, his 121.5 meters is only enough for fourth place.

Lovro Kos wins here in Lahti, Andreas Wellinger is second.

2nd round

: Two are still up.

Michael Hayböck starts off.

But the Austrian can't fly at all here, he only manages 114 meters.

This means Wellinger gets off the podium.

2nd round

: Daniel Tschofenig will probably leave Wellinger behind.

The Austrian jumps to 121.5 meters.

It's only sixth place.

2nd round

: Now it's Andreas Wellinger's turn.

Can he keep up with this long-distance chase?

He can not.

It is only 126.5 meters, but in worse conditions.

He is second.

2nd round

: The jury reacts and shortens the run-up.

Nevertheless, Lovro Kos flies here at 134 meters.

The Slovenian takes the lead.

2nd round

: What a jump from Jan Hörl.

The Austrian flies here at 136 meters.

Nevertheless, he is only second because his conditions were optimal.

2nd round

: Domen Prevc, on the other hand, will lose a few places here.

He only reaches 125 meters.

He ranks eighth.

2nd round

: Now comes the Four Hills Tournament winner and Ryoyu Kobayashi shows a really good jump of 131 meters.

With that he passes Forfang.

2nd round

: Aleksander Zniszczol comes next and he also loses a place.

His 126.5 meters are enough for second place

2nd round

: We have now reached the last ten jumpers.

First up is Tate Frantz from the USA.

He jumps to 121 meters and falls back to eighth place.

2nd round

: Now we see Stephan Lehye here.

However, he makes a mistake when taking off, which costs him a lot of distance.

Nevertheless, it is 124 meters and third place

2nd round

: Johann Andre Forfang, on the other hand, shows a really good jump, taking the lead with his 131.5 meters.

2nd round

: Now Philipp Raimund sits on top of the beam.

It doesn't really fly, it's only 120 meters.

This means he loses a few places and ends up in eighth place.

2nd round

: The first ten jumpers are now down.

Halvor Egner Granerud now comes with starting number eleven.

The Norwegian is in third place with his 122 meters.

2nd round

: Now we see Pius Paschke here.

He also has to get off the beam again.

When he is finally allowed to go down, he shows a very strong jump to 129 meters.

This puts him in the lead

2nd round

: Constantin Schmid is also early here, but now has to be patient.

On the third attempt he is allowed to go down and jump to 125.5 meters.

That makes him first.

2nd round

: It's Karl Geiger's turn here with start number three.

With his 123.5 meters he loses one place and is now second.

2nd round

: This continues here in Lahti.

Junshiro Kobayashi opened the final with his jump of 124.5 meters.

Before the 2nd round

: All six German athletes made it to the final.

The DSV starts with Karl Geiger with starting number three, followed by Constantin Schmid (5), Pius Paschke (7), Philipp Raimund (14), Stephan Leyhe (19) and Andreas Wellinger (27).

Conclusion

: The departure of Stefan Kraft is of course now the opportunity for Andreas Wellinger to make up some points on the Austrian.

With fourth place, Wellinger placed well in the first round.

All other five German starters also qualified for the final.

Unfortunately, Noriaki Kasai was eliminated.

1st round

: Only Stefan Kraft is sitting on top of the beam.

It wobbles a lot in flight and lands after just 105 meters.

With that he is eliminated.

1st round

: Ryoyu Kobayashi, on the other hand, is only in eighth place with his 127 meters.

1st round

: We have reached the last three jumpers in this round and thus Andreas Wellinger.

The third from the qualification does well and jumps to fourth place with 129.5 meters.

1st round

: However, he is surpassed in distance by Michael Hayböck, who shows a fantastic jump of 131 meters.

However, due to the better conditions, the Austrian is only second.

1st round

: Marius Lindvik from Norway shows a really strong jump.

He flies to 128.5 meters and takes the lead.

1st round

: Pius Paschke doesn't get going at all here either.

He comes to the same distance as Geiger and ranks 19th.

However, he was also unlucky with the conditions.

1st round

: Now it's Karl Geiger's turn and he can't really get out of the crisis here in Lahti either.

His 118.5 meters are just enough for the final with 21st place.

1st round

: We have reached the last ten jumpers.

First up is Peter Prevc, who jumps to 122 meters and is in 13th place.

1st round

: Daniel Tschofenig showed really strong performances at the start of the season.

After a phase of weakness, he is now back and takes the lead with his jump of 125.5 meters.

1st round

: Raimund is now followed by Stephan Leyhe.

In poorer conditions he jumps half a meter shorter than Raimund and is therefore in fourth place.

1st round

: Now there are two German starters in direct succession.

Philipp Raimund goes first and reaches 126 meters in a strong updraft.

He is currently seventh.

1st round

: 30 athletes have already completed their jump, 20 are still at the top.

The first of these is Halvor Egner Granerud, who is seventh with 119 meters and can therefore complete a second jump.

1st round

: Zyla's compatriot Aleksander Zniszczol does better, taking the lead with his 124.5 meters.

1st round

: Piotr Zyla will probably not be there either, as he only jumps to 117.5 meters in a strong updraft and, with 17th place, has nothing to do with the final.

1st round

: Constantin Schmid, who will now definitely be there in the second round, benefits from the Italians' weak jumps.

1st round

: Now we see two Italians with Giovanni Bresadola and Alex Insam.

Bresadola, with his 114.5 meters, will probably not be in the final.

And Insam also probably has to give up with 116 meters and 14th place.

1st round

: It's now the turn of the next two Finns.

Antti Aalto jumps at 115 meters and is currently seventh.

His compatriot Niko Kytosaho manages 121.5 meters.

He ranks fifth.

1st round

: The first 20 jumpers are now down.

Vladimir Zografski is 21st.

The Bulgarian manages 117 meters and ranks seventh.

1st round

: With starting number 18 it is now the turn of the American Erik Belshaw.

His jump of 126.5 meters puts him in third place.

1st round

: Now it's Constantin Schmid's turn.

he returns to the World Cup with a good 123 meters.

That makes him second.

1st round

: Two Finns now come in direct succession.

Eetu Nousiainen puts in a good lead with 119 meters and takes the lead.

Kasperi Valto can't keep up with his 115 meters.

He's only eighth.

1st round

: The ski jumping legend is back in Europe.

After making it to the second round in Sapporo, Noriaki Kasai will also be competing here in Lahti.

He has good conditions and achieves the longest jump to date with 117.5 meters.

This puts him in the lead.

1st round

: It goes much further for Maksim Bartolj from Slovenia, who jumps to 111.5 meters with start number four and is currently third.

1st round

: This is where the first individual competition begins here in Lahti.

Henri Kavilo sets the first distance of 98 meters in a moderate updraft.

Before jumping

: It starts in a few minutes.

Henri Kavilo from Finland will open the competition.

Before jumping

: Six DSV eagles are competing in Lahti today.

Constantin Schmid starts with starting number 13, followed by Philipp Raimund (34), Stephan Lehye (35), Karl Geiger (42), Pius Paschke (44) and Andreas Wellinger (48).

Before jumping

: The German team presented itself slightly improved.

Apart from Andreas Wellinger, no one made it into the top ten, but three other athletes, Pius Paschke (11th), Karl Geiger (14th) and Philipp Raimund (17th), made it into the top 20 jumpers.

Before jumping

: The Slovenians, on the other hand, presented themselves weakly.

Lovro Kos finished eighth.

Domen Prevc is only 13th. His brother Peter is in 25th place.

Before jumping

: The favorites for the day's victory did not show any weakness in the qualification.

Stefan Kraft won ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi and Andreas Wellinger.

Before jumping

: The qualification for the competition has just ended.

All six German athletes made it into the top 50 and will be at the start from 5:00 p.m.

Before jumping

: Hello and welcome to the live ticker for ski jumping today in Lahti.

The first individual on the large hill is about to begin.

Ski jumping in the live ticker today: The preliminary report on the individual from Lahti

After the

extremely unsatisfactory

trip to the

ski flying hill

in Oberstdorf for the German team, things should now go better for the DSV jumpers on a tour of Scandinavia on the large hills.

Ski jumping in the live ticker today: Wellinger is weak in the fight for the overall ranking

Andreas Wellinger

in particular

has to get back on track in Lahti after a disappointing weekend in Oberstdorf for his standards, when he was unable to achieve a podium finish either with the team or in the two individual competitions, if he wants

Stefan Kraft

to win the overall ranking

chase away.

But not only the Austrian, but also the Four Hills Tournament winner

Ryoyu Kobayashi

is currently ahead of Wellinger.

However, compared to the rest of the German team, Andreas Wellinger's record is fantastic.

In Oberstdorf, none of the other nominated jumpers could even come close to the

top ten

.

Karl Geiger

missed two competitions on his home hill.

He was not nominated for the super team and missed qualifying on Saturday.

Ski jumping in the live ticker today: Schmid returns to the World Cup

The 31-year-old has to get back on track as quickly as possible, because Germany's young talent isn't sleeping either.

Constantin Schmid

was able to secure his ticket for the next competitions

through the Continental Cup and the

bronze medalist

in the team competition at the Olympic Games in Beijing will certainly aim for a

permanent return to the World Cup team

.

But

Felix Hoffmann

, who secured the World Cup ticket for the competitions in the USA, Japan and Oberstdorf and has

now returned to the Continental Cup

, is also slowly becoming dangerous for Geiger.

The 26-year-old didn't deliver absolutely top performances, but he regularly jumped into the points and could soon give Geiger an unwanted break.

The usual suspects around

Stefan Kraft, Andreas Wellinger

and

Ryoyu Kobayashi

will be the big favorites in the race on Friday.

But the Slovenians around

Lovro Kos

and the

Prevc brothers

Peter and Domen should always be taken into account.

Qualification begins at 3:45 p.m.
