Zinédine Zidane is apparently an option as Tuchel's successor at FC Bayern.
A former teammate has now revealed the coach's plans.
Munich – Since the announcement of the separation from head coach Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season, FC Bayern has been looking for a successor.
One of the candidates is apparently Zinédine Zidane, who has not been under contract with any club since 2021.
But is the Frenchman actually interested in joining the German record champions?
FC Bayern is looking for Tuchel's successor
According to Thomas Gravesen, former Denmark international and Zidane's team-mate at Real Madrid at the time, FC Bayern is not an option for the successful coach.
“I spoke to Zidane in Madrid two years ago.
“That’s when he told me that he would only take two and a half jobs: Marseille, Madrid and the French national team,” Gravesen said on
Discovery+
.
In addition to FC Bayern, Manchester United is said to be interested in the former Real Madrid coach.
However, he would like to have a large budget at the English club so that he can rebuild the team according to his wishes.
With the current Man Utd squad, Zidane sees no possibility of achieving anything, as Gravesen says.
A move to the Premier League is not a priority for Zidane anyway, the 47-year-old continued.

Zinédine Zidane recently commented on a new job as a coach and told
Sky Italia
at the presentation of a documentary about Marcelo Lippi that he would “definitely” work as a coach again.
The former Juventus player did not rule out a return to Italy: “A future in Italy?
Why not, anything can happen.
I’m doing other things at the moment, but we’ll see.”
Zidane is apparently in FC Bayern's sights
So far, Zidane has only worked as a coach at Real Madrid.
After the end of his active career in 2006, he said goodbye to football and then briefly took over the position of sports director at the Royals in 2011.
However, at his own request, he stopped again after a little more than a year.
