Charon Sherry has looked excellent since joining Nijmegen in the January transfer window.

The midfielder on loan from Maccabi Haifa was involved in five goals in seven appearances, three of which he scored and the other two he assisted.

This only causes a stronger pinch from the point of view of Kees van Vanderen, Hiernebein's coach who hoped that Cheri would play for him and yesterday (Friday) expressed some disappointment with the Dutchman.

"Sherry is a slightly older player, but he still has the qualities to make a difference as an attacking midfielder. I would be happy to have him with us," said van Wendren in an interview, who knows Sherry from his time as an assistant coach at Twente.

"For a long time it seemed that he would come here. "We worked together in Twente and he gave an indication that he would be happy to work with us again here.

Either he was working on us, or Nijmechen was a little more determined at the right time.

In my opinion, it's a shame."

Nijmegen won it and enjoys it especially.

Last night, Sherry participated as a substitute for 24 minutes in Nijmegen's 1:2 victory over Volendam in the Dutch league.

The current team of the former captain of the Greens is in sixth place, from which they rise at the end of the season to the playoffs for one of the tickets to the Conference League, while Nijmegen also qualified last week for the final of the Dutch Cup after Sherry cooked in the victory over Kambur.
