One thing is certain: Thomas Tuchel is leaving the record champions in the summer at the latest, and a new coach should bring success back to Säbener Straße in the coming season.
The list of potential Tuchel successors is long – and Sebastian Hoeneß is also one of them.
The VfB Stuttgart coach with a Bayern past has drawn attention to himself thanks to his strong season with the Swabians.
Bayern CEO Dreesen has already stated that they are monitoring Hoeneß' development.
And Hoeneß himself can also imagine working in Munich.

Hoeneß was asked about the Bayern rumor - and the 41-year-old's statements make people sit up and take notice.
“I am very ambitious and always want to train the best possible players,” explains Hoeneß.
In the Bundesliga he will definitely find this in the long term at FC Bayern.
The total market value of the Munich squad is currently around 976 million euros (as of February 2nd, source: transfermarkt.de) and is therefore more than four times as expensive as that of VfB Stuttgart (approx. 236 million, as of February 2nd, Source: transfermarkt.de).

Hoeneß's return to his old place of work is conceivable
Even though Hoeneß has taken the Stuttgart team to a new level this season, in Munich he would have the chance to train seasoned stars like Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané, who are definitely among the “best possible players”.
The individual class of the players is higher at the record champions than at VfB - Hoeneß will also know that.

For Hoeneß, the coaching position at FC Bayern would mean returning home to his hometown and to the club where he first coached the U19s from 2017 to 2020 and then led the second team to the championship in the 3rd league.

“Couldn’t be happier”: Hoeneß focuses on VfB
Hoeneß isn't wasting too much thought on the possible job with the record champions at the moment.
“I never planned the next steps.
I couldn't be happier in Stuttgart at the moment.
We’ll see how it goes,” said the nephew of Bayern patron Uli Hoeneß.
Although he is “excited to see what my career has in store for me,” he is currently only thinking about the next game in the league.
In any case, Hoeneß already has a prominent advocate on his side: Didi Hamann recently advocated for the 41-year-old to be Tuchel's successor at FCB.
Lothar Matthäus, on the other hand, has a different favorite.
