It’s 6:30 p.m. this Saturday.
To the sound of a DJ, several hundred spectators remained in the corridors of the Charléty stadium after Paris FC - Saint-Étienne (0-0) of L2 in front of 17,358 (record).
Some had a bite to eat in front of the numerous food trucks, others lined up for the signing session organized by the club with Ilan Kebbal, Pierre-Yves-Hamel and Obed Nkambadio or tried their hand at the Lucarne d'Évry.
While waiting for the D1 Arkema match to kick off at 7:30 p.m., the spectators waited in a great atmosphere.
Paris FC had planned everything, invested financially to succeed in this first operation of doubling the L2 and D1 Arkema matches.
But the water fell.
After inspecting the pitch, the Paris FC - Saint-Étienne referees declared the pitch impassable.
The speaker's announcement left some disappointed.
“It was a wonderful day, the L2 match was already great with a great atmosphere and we were waiting for the girls' match while enjoying the entertainment.
The children were happy, it’s a real shame,” regrets Laetitia, who came from Porte de Pantin, with her three children.
Disappointment could also be seen on the faces of the girls from Paris FC and Saint-Etienne.
“A normal pitch would have been able to absorb the two matches”
In front of Charléty's locker room, anger reigned among the Paris FC staff.
Certainly, the rain which fell continuously did not help anything.
But with the pitch so damaged even before the L2 match kicked off at 3 p.m., the outcome was unfortunately predictable.
The summary work carried out during the three weeks without an L2 match did not make it possible to improve the condition of the pitch.
The standoff should intensify in the coming days between Paris town hall and the club.
“Okay, it rained a lot this afternoon.
But a normal pitch would have been capable of absorbing the two matches, regrets president Pierre Ferracci.
Now things have to move.
At that level, it's incompetence.
Enough is enough… "
