We can't get over it.
After the inaugural Tirreno-Adriatico time trial this Monday, the Dutch team Visma-Lease a Bike brought out its futuristic helmets for the Paris-Nice team time trial, contested this Tuesday and won by UAE Emirates.
And the images, filmed by a drone, are particularly astonishing.
The organizers of the Race to the Sun had a good laugh about it, writing: “not very long ago, in a galaxy not so far away”.

These helmets caused a lot of reaction.
On social networks, observers had a field day, often to mock, sometimes to worry about their effectiveness.
“We are excited to use our brand new, innovative Giro helmets for the first time,” the Dutch team wrote, punctuated with a rocket emoticon.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) also reacted, announcing “a review of its rules regarding the design and use of helmets in competition.
» These will be announced “after approval by the competent authorities”.
The international body regrets the design of these new helmets, which no longer respect their primary function, namely to protect riders.
