During the battles of the IDF soldiers in the Khan Yunis area, the paratrooper brigade carried out extensive searches to find weapons and ammunition. The trophy was found by Major Akiva Halfon, a sports enthusiast and activist, who began a search for the owner of the trophy from whose house the trophy disappeared in the late 1990s. With the help of a team from the World Jewish Sports Museum, the trophy was returned to its excited owner, who decided to display the trophy in a permanent display at the museum in the village of Maccabiah. Today, an exciting ceremony was held at the World Jewish Sports Museum to place the trophy and display it on permanent display in the museum.
