Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is apparently an option at FC Barcelona.
The Bayern attacker's contract expires after the season.
Munich/Barcelona – Last season, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting came up trumps at times.
Robert Lewandowski's replacement, who had left for Spanish top club FC Barcelona, suddenly appeared as a goalscorer.
The former Cameroon international scored ten Bundesliga goals and four goals in the Champions League between mid-October 2022 and the beginning of March 2023 before back problems and then a knee injury slowed him down.
Bayern striker apparently on FC Barcelona's list
With the arrival of Harry Kane at the German record champions, Choupo-Moting's playing time fell significantly.
As in the Lewandowski era, he was again the clear number two in the center of the attack and was primarily needed as a substitute.
In the current season, the 34-year-old has played 27 competitive games across all competitions, but he has only been in the starting line-up six times (as of March 3rd).
His contract expires at the end of the season and it is still unclear what will happen to the attacker from the summer onwards.
According to rumors, there will be no contract extension at FC Bayern Munich.

But where could the 34-year-old be headed in July?

reports, FC Barcelona is said to have kept an eye on him.
At the Spanish top club, Choupo-Moting would meet his former teammate Robert Lewandowski and once again act as his backup.

But FC Barcelona is apparently not the only interested party.
According to
Bild
information, several clubs from Saudi Arabia are also said to be vying for the striker.
A move to the Saudi Pro League would be financially much more attractive for Choupo-Moting, but in terms of sport it would be a clear relegation to the Bundesliga or the Spanish LaLiga.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been under contract with FC Bayern Munich since 2020.
He previously played for French giants Paris Saint-Germain, Stoke City, FC Schalke 04, 1. FC Nürnberg, FV Mainz 05 and Hamburger SV.
The Hamburg native's greatest successes were the three German championships with FC Bayern and two French championships with PSG.
