Munich - The pressure situation could hardly be greater: FC Bayern is threatened with a season to forget if the Munich team were to be eliminated early from the Champions League against Lazio Rome this evening (9 p.m.).
The Italians won the first leg of the round of 16 1-0 (0-0) against the German record champions in mid-February.
A penalty from ex-Dortmunder Ciro Immobile (68th minute) was enough to put Bayern in an unfavorable position in the second leg this Tuesday in the Allianz Arena at home.
Munich under pressure: record champions fear for the quarter-finals of the Champions League
To put it into perspective: If the “Biancocelesti”, the “White-Sky-Blues”, score an early goal, the Munich team would immediately need two goals of their own for extra time and the hope of reaching the quarter-finals.
And: Lazio is considered to be strong defensively and currently has the fifth best defense in the Italian Serie A in terms of goals conceded (29).

“We weren’t surprised by Lazio’s strength.
We'll try to play more aggressively and with more conviction tomorrow.
Unfortunately in Rome we made too many mistakes in the second half.
But we now have the chance to give an answer,” said FCB coach Thomas Tuchel in the press conference on Monday for the first leg in the venerable Stadio Olimpico di Roma.
