Eintracht captain Sebastian Rode is not ending his career with immediate effect, but wants to be on the field again until the end of the season.
Frankfurt – Sebastian Rode will not end his career with immediate effect, as the Eintracht Frankfurt captain announced at a press conference.
Despite an operation after a knee injury, the SGE captain still wants to fight for missions.
After the end of the season, the 33-year-old will hang up his football boots.

Rode doesn't have a precise plan for the time after that, but he wants to switch off from football first.
“I want to take at least a year off, relax and spend time with my family.
It won't be easy because everything has revolved around football since I was four, but I'll manage it.
I’m looking forward to traveling and spending time with my family.”
In any case, the door is always open to him at Eintracht Frankfurt, as Markus Krösche said.
“It is difficult to replace the identification that Seppl has with the club,” said the sports director when asked whether he was looking for a new Rode.

Shortly after the second leg against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the midfielder had pain in his knee again.
It will be very difficult for him “to be able to help the team again in terms of sport over the course of the rest of the season.
“Nevertheless, I will give everything again to say goodbye to you on the pitch on the last match day,” wrote Rode to the Eintracht fans.

“After struggling with more and less pain in my knee for the last three months, I had an examination last Friday to get a status quo for my knee.
The result was very depressing,” Rode continued.
