New contract for Mathys Tel. The French offensive jewel signs a new contract with FC Bayern until 2029.
Munich - FC Bayern is working on its team of the future - and Mathys Tel (18) should play an important role!
The German record champions and the French offensive jewel have agreed on an early extension of his contract, which originally expired in 2027.
The new working paper that will be signed this afternoon on Säbener Straße is valid until 2029. Salary increase included.
The French sports newspaper L'Équipe first reported about it.
At the end of February there was a meeting between Tel's advisor Gadiri Camara and Bayern's sports director Christoph Freund (46) in Munich.
The Austrian left no doubt that the club would like to rely on the attacker in the future.
Under coach Thomas Tuchel (50), Tel did not go beyond the joker role this season.
Last Friday in the 2-2 draw in Freiburg, the Frenchman was in the starting line-up for the first time this season in the Bundesliga.
He scored a goal worth seeing.
He still had to sit on the bench again in the 3-0 win against Lazio on Tuesday.
Due to his unsatisfactory playing time, Tel even considered a move in the summer.
These plans have no longer been an issue since the club announced that they would part ways with Tuchel in the summer at the latest.
The contract was then quickly extended.
Tel and Bavaria have big plans for each other
Tel is highly valued by FC Bayern bosses.
Sports director Max Eberl (50) also expressed his appreciation several times during his presentation last week.
The player himself carries the Munich club in his heart.
To date, he has always immediately rejected inquiries from abroad.
He wants to achieve great things with the German record champions.
In the summer of 2022, Bayern signed Tel from Stade Rennes for a guaranteed transfer fee of €20 million.
This sum can increase by a further 8.5 million euros.
A lot of money for a talent.
Fan favorite Tel should ideally develop into a regular player for Tuchel's successor.
