Mario Basler made headlines with a tirade of insults about Thomas Müller.
However, the Bayern star countered with a strong performance and made the expert look old.
Munich – Football is a fast-moving business, that is well known.
However, some experts seem to forget this every now and then and are led to make statements that age poorly.
A prime example of the category of poorly aged expert opinions is Mario Basler's latest all-round attack on Thomas Müller.
Basler complains about Müller: “Bayern are playing with one less man”
“The last four games, grade 5, grade 6, 12 ball contacts, 11 to the opponent.
“Bayern are playing with one man less,” Basler begins
to complain about Müller at the
Sport1 fan talk on Tuesday evening (March 5th).
“I'm telling you, he has to get out of this team.” The ex-Bayern star's verbal outburst caused laughter and murmurs in the audience at the Dortmund Football Museum.
“You saw it at the weekend, Tel scored an outstanding goal, for me he is a class, two classes stronger than Thomas Müller,” continued Basler and, in his criticism of Müller, refers to the disappointing 2nd place from Bayern’s perspective :2 draw in Freiburg.

Basler: Müller “plays more with the opponent than with his own teammate”
Müller's playing time in particular seems to be a thorn in the 55-year-old's side.
“But he has to play for FC Bayern because it is the big icon,” Basler rumbled in the live broadcast, in which the second leg of the round of 16 between Bayern and Lazio was shown on a screen at the same time.
“The icon no longer hits anything, he just runs around, gesticulates, only has his hands up and plays more with the opponent than with his own teammate.”
A few days earlier, the ex-national player had sharply criticized the performances of Müller and Joshua Kimmich in his podcast “Basler ballert”.
“If you take the last four or five games, I have to say: Kimmich and Müller – simply bad.”

Müller leads Bayern to victory over Lazio with a strong performance
What Basler couldn't have guessed from his tirade in fan talk: Bayern would show one of the best performances of the past few weeks in their confident 3-0 win over Lazio.
And Müller, of all people, led the Munich team into the quarter-finals with a strong performance and the decisive goal to make it 2-0 (45th + 2) and then made some casual comments afterwards.
So it seemed logical that at the time of Müller's goal there was a huge cheer in the fan talk audience.
Just a few minutes after Basler's attacks, Müller gave him the lie.
The glee in the room over the
Sport1
expert's verbal own goals was unmistakable.
In the end, it was once again statements in the category: aged poorly.
