Messi, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, José Mourinho and, now, Carlo Ancelotti: in its incessant fight against tax fraud, the Spanish justice system has never hesitated to attack the big names and condemn them.
This Thursday, we learned that the Spanish prosecutor's office has requested 4 years and 9 months in prison against the Italian coach of Real Madrid, as part of his trial for fraud dating back to 2014 and 2015 "by failing to declare his income from his image rights”.
In detail, the former coach of PSG and AC Milan allegedly failed to declare 1,062,079 euros to the Spanish authorities.
During his first stint at Real Madrid, although he was indeed a tax resident in Spain and declared all of his salaries there, his income linked to image rights passed through various companies which were not there. domiciled.
The prosecution speaks, in its press release, of a “complex” and “confusing” network aimed at “avoiding the taxation of income derived from these image rights”.
Ancelotti “acknowledged” the facts which resulted in a shortfall of 386,361 euros for the Public Treasury, according to a court document.
