The table tennis players of TSV Hohenpeißenberg are happy about their victory in the Final Four tournament in the district cup.

The SG Peiting/Peißenberg also gets involved well.

Söcking

- Whoever was responsible for the game plan for the Final Four tournament in the cup, they had shown a good hand in the case of the district class teams.

The last game represented an actual finale for the overall victory. However, the players from TSV Hohenpeißenberg II were not particularly impressed by it.

With a clear 4-0 over SV Igling, Martin Dunajski, Gerhard Bertl and Daniel Vögl made the cup success perfect.

TSV Hohenpeißenberg II takes first place in the final four

As winners of the Upper Bavaria South district, the Hohenpeißenberg team now continues in another Final Four tournament.

It will be against the winners from the districts of Upper Bavaria Central (TSV Zorneding/District Class A), Schwaben Süd (TV Waal III/District Class A) and Schwaben Nord (TSV Zusmarshausen/District Class A).

As a club from district class B, TSV Hohenpeißenberg II is - according to paper form - the outsider.

During the course of the cup, the second team had already proven that they could defeat teams from the league above.

And in Söcking they also left a club from district class A, SV Igling (third in the northwest relay), behind them.

According to Bertl, the “most difficult opponent to play against” that day came from his own club.

TSV Hohenpeißenberg III – first in the district class D –

had also qualified for the final four

.

Since the players know each other very well, there was a special moment of tension.

The third set immediately caused a surprise, with Andreas Rössle winning against Vögl with 3:1 sets.

As a result, the second set prevailed;

In the end it was 4:1.

After a 4:0 (with 12:1 sets) over SV Igling II, things looked good for Hohenpeißenberg II in terms of “tournament victory”.

The third TSV set could have given the second team a helping hand with a win over Igling.

After a 1-1 draw, the Hohenpeißenberg team were unlucky in two five-set defeats and lost 4-1.

So it came down to the last duel of the day.

SG Peiting/Peißenberg came second in the cup final tournament

Looking back, at the district league level, the first game of

SG Peiting/Peißenberg

was crucial for the outcome of the tournament.

The leaders of the District League South met the leaders of the District League North, who still had no lost points, TSV Gräfelfing V. After the first three singles and the doubles, the SG was behind 1:3.

Dennis Stetter

kept Peitinger and Peißenberger in the game with a 3:2 win (11:7, 13:15, 8:11, 11:3, 12:14).

It was unfortunate that

David Assmann

, who had won his first singles, lost his second game by a narrow and unfortunate score of 2:3 (11:6, 11:5, 11:13, 6:11, 7:11).

As a result, Gräfelfing V didn't show any weakness and had the necessary five-set luck in a 4-3 win over Eurasburg and thus won the tournament.

The SG perfected second place with a final 4:2 over SF Gmund-Dürnbach.

In the final four of the teams that operate at association level, there was nothing for

TSV Hohenpeißenberg

to win.

The runner-up in the South-Southwest Regional League was only able to compete with two players due to illness.

It wasn't possible to win more than two games.

First place went to TSV Starnberg II, which plays in the Verbandsoberliga Süd and is therefore two classes above the Rigi team.
