Split

FC Bayern Munich is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and could really benefit financially this season.

Munich – FC Bayern Munich barely avoided elimination in the round of 16.

In the second leg against Lazio Rome there was a confident 3-0 win in the Allianz Arena, which meant a place in the quarter-finals of the premier class.

Progressing is not only worthwhile for the German record champions in terms of sport, but also financially.

FC Bayern with high income from the Champions League

By qualifying for the quarter-finals, FC Bayern has already secured 86.02 million euros in UEFA bonuses.

The total revenue now amounts to over 100 million - and millions more await in the next rounds of the competition.

Getting into the round of the last eight teams brings FCB 10.6 million alone.

In addition, there were the 15.64 million entry fees already collected, 14.93 million for five wins and a draw in the group stage, 9.6 million for reaching the round of 16 and 35.25 million for second place in the UEFA coefficient rankings.

But that wasn't it for the previous income from the Champions League.

FCB receives around 25 million euros from the so-called market pool and receives another 25 million euros for the five home games in the premier class, including the quarter-finals.

Further millions in income possible for FC Bayern

FC Bayern has already secured a three-digit million sum from the Champions League, but that doesn't necessarily have to be it yet.

If the Munich team also made it to the semi-finals, that would bring in another 12.5 million euros.

If it goes on to the final, which will be played on June 1st at Wembley Stadium in London, a further 15.5 million euros will flow into the coffers, and a win will bring in an additional 4.5 million euros.

The opponent for the quarter-finals has not yet been determined.

The draw will take place on March 15th, and there are no longer any restrictions - even a duel between two Bundesliga teams would be possible.

Like FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain is already through, and other top-class opponents should also make it into the round of the last eight teams.

The FCB is facing a difficult task.
