The football research body CIES published this evening (Wednesday) a rating that compliments Oscar Gloch.
According to statistics, the Israeli is the eighth best sprinter among attacking midfielders in world football.
The figure according to which the ranking was made is actually the ratio between the amount of sprints performed by each player per game, and the expected amount.
The expected amount is determined by the position in which the player plays and the team's style of play: her ball possession percentage, the number of passes she averages per game and how "vertically" she plays.
In simpler words, we will check how much the player's number of sprints deviates favorably from the expected amount.
Gloch, with a ratio of 1.38, is placed eighth.
For the purpose of the ranking, all games that took place in the measured leagues in the 2023/24 season until February 27, or in 2023 in "reversed" leagues such as the MLS, were taken into account.
CIES studies examine 28 leagues around the world and divide the footballers into six positions: defender, defender, back/central midfielder, attacking midfielder, winger and striker.
Oskar Glöch provided seven goals this season along with eight assists in 29 appearances in the Austrian Red Bull Salzburg uniform.
