Dortmund – With the 2-0 win over 1. FC Union Berlin, Edin Terzić has given himself a little more breathing room.
The coach of Borussia Dortmund is counted on due to his team's weak performances in recent weeks and is still under pressure.

After Borussia Dortmund announced before the winter break that Edin Terzić would continue to be the club's head coach into the new year, they appointed two new assistant coaches, Nuri Şahin and Sven Bender, to his side.
Especially when Şahin was installed, many saw a possible replacement for the current head coach, as he had previously worked successfully as a coach in Turkey.
Since Terzić has not yet managed to turn things around in March, there are still discussions about whether BVB might not have already brought a successor into their own ranks by hiring Şahin.
On Sunday, BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl took a clear position in a one-two: “There are clear responsibilities.
In the end, Edin is the boss, there are no discussions.”

Despite fluctuating performance: Kehl doesn't want to have a coaching discussion
The day before Kehl had to comment on the coaching debate at BVB in a one-two, the black and yellow team won an important victory at Union Berlin.
In the previous games, the team lacked further development as a player, which is why there was renewed criticism of head coach Terzić.
“It is clear that it was restless in the winter.
We then decided together that we would continue on this path.
We don’t have a coaching discussion,” emphasized Kehl.
Instead, the sports director took the players to task and pointed out the discrepancy in performances on the national and international stage.
“Everyone can play football better.
“It’s strange when I feel like playing in the Champions League and then experience such fluctuations in the Bundesliga,” Kehl noted.

Kehl denies power struggle with Terzić
In the past few weeks there have also been repeated rumors about an impending power struggle between head coach Terzić and sports director Kehl.
The rumor mill flared up particularly when it came to the failed transfer of Edson Alvarez, which Kehl really wanted and which Terzić is said to have rejected.
Kehl firmly rejected this.
“We make joint decisions at Borussia Dortmund,” said the 44-year-old clearly and added: “If you sign a player of a certain size, then everyone has to be convinced.
There are different opinions.
I won’t let anything drive a wedge between me and the coach.”
