The joy of the European Championship games in Munich not only lifts the mood, but unfortunately also the prices for hotel rooms.
In some cases you even pay three times as much.
Munich – There is absolutely nothing to complain about this year that there is nothing going on in Munich in the summer.
Sports fans are already looking forward to the months of June and July: that's when the European Football Championship will take place in Germany, with a total of six games in the Munich Allianz Arena.
However, if you're less into kicking men and more into warbling ladies, there's also something on offer in summer: British pop star Adele is coming to Munich for ten concerts in August.

However, this diverse leisure program in the hot months also has a dark side: hotel prices go through the roof during this time.
A double room in a three-star hotel in the Schwabing-Freimann district, not far from the football arena, costs between 102 and 185 euros for one night on the first weekend in June (prices according to the online portal booking.com

Things look completely different on the weekend of the opening game between Germany and Scotland in the Allianz Arena, just two weeks later: Where there is currently anything free, you pay between 357 and 449 euros per night.

A similar picture emerges for the semi-final on July 9th, a Tuesday: a double room in a four-star hotel in Schwabing costs between 308 and 675 euros for one night.
For comparison: just two weeks later you only pay an average of just over 240 euros.
Adele's concert visit could be an expensive surprise
It's not just European footballers who are driving up the price of hotel rooms, but also singer Adele.
Anyone who attends the opening concert in the open-air arena at the Munich Trade Fair and wants to book a double room in a three-star hotel in Trudering-Riem from August 2nd to 3rd will pay between 323 and 449 euros.
A week beforehand, however, there are still rooms available between 155 and 299 euros.
Going to the concert could be an expensive surprise - or to use the refrain of Adele's song: "Oh my god, I can't believe it."
