Summary: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel Hadera 0:1/Sport1
When Maccabi Haifa began its European season with the same away game (stormy in the stands and relaxed on the grass) in Malta against Hamron Spartans on July 11, it is doubtful that even in the club there was anyone who believed that eight months later the European campaign would still be underway.
Under Masai Dago, the Greens achieved their first ever away win in a European group stage, qualified for the round of 16 for the first time since 2006/07, and also set an Israeli precedent: the longest journey of a team from the Premier League in UEFA plants. The 0:4 in Malta was the first and the second leg in Florence in - March 14th will be the 18th game. And who knows? Maybe it won't stop there.
Will they also reach 20?

As you may remember, Maccabi Haifa's European season is spread over three different enterprises: in the Champions League qualifiers, it was stopped in the playoffs after eight games, in the European League it had six in the group stage and now four more in the deciding stages in the Conference League.
Out of the 18, only five were held in Israel.
Because of the war and the ban on hosting in Israel, Maccabi Haifa had to host Villarreal in Larnaca and Ran in Puskas Arena in Budapest, in two games in the group stage of the European League that ended in losses (after 0:0 in Haifa against Panathinaikos).
In the Conference League, it continued in Budapest, only at Božik Arena, where it beat Ghent 0:1 and will now try to surprise Fiorentina (10:00 p.m., Sport1).
Maccabi Tel Aviv, which is also in the round of 16 of the Conference League, currently has 14 games (including the two against Olympiakos) and will reach 18 in the event that they qualify for the semi-finals.
If one of the two representatives advances to the quarter-finals, a new record of games for Israeli teams in one European season will also be set.
Currently, there are 38 games this season, when you add Hapoel Beer Sheva's four and Beitar Jerusalem's two in the Conference League qualifiers. This is equal to the record number from 2016/17, when Hapoel Beer Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv participated simultaneously in the European League houses and the team from the capital of the Negev also Continued to the last 32 stage (double loss to Besiktas). Each of them then had 14 games and in addition there were eight for Beitar who was stopped in the Europa League playoffs by Saint Etienne and two more for Maccabi Haifa who was unexpectedly eliminated by Noma Kallio.
