Former Lions coach Alexander Schmidt was furious.

1860 investor Hasan Ismaik doesn't fare particularly well.

Munich - Alex Schmidt actually wanted to watch the game on Friday evening between his two former clubs.

In 2021, the 55-year-old was promoted with Dynamo Dresden; from 2007 to 2013 he was initially responsible for the youth team and later as a coach for the professionals.

Already on board at that time: Löwen investor Hasan Ismaik.

“This man drives up in a luxury limousine, flies around in his private jet and has a big cigar in his hand.

That’s not Sixty Munich!”

Alexander Schmidt about Hasan Ismaik.

The Jordanian apparently didn't make a particularly good impression on Austria Klagenfurt's current U18 coach.

Although his involvement with TSV 1860 Munich dates back more than ten years, the Augsburg native follows the goings-on at Grünwalder Straße 114 closely.

He mainly blames the dispute at the management level on Ismaik.

“You can't act, you're being held back because everything is delayed and decisions are made at the last minute,” says Schmidt in an angry interview with AZ.

“In my opinion, it is very difficult or even impossible to work with Ismaik.” In his opinion, the Jordanian’s demeanor during his manageable visits also doesn’t suit the Blues: “This man drives up in a luxury limousine and flies through in his private jet the area and has his big cigar in his hand.

That’s not Sixty Munich!”

“He always says that 1860 is close to his heart.

That’s ridiculous.”

Alexander Schmidt doesn't buy Ismaik's love for the lion.

Schmidt also shows understanding that the eV side has gone on a confrontational course and has recently pushed through various personnel and decisions with the 50+1 rule.

The ex-coach doesn't take Ismaik's conditions for the sale of his shares seriously as soon as the executive board admits the sticking policy and apologizes for it: "I laugh at that.

“What world does he live in,” asks Schmidt.

“Is respect a two-way street?

Why have some people in the eV become hardliners?

It’s Ismaik who doesn’t respect them – and that they have something to say to him.”

In his opinion, the future of the Lions doesn't look rosy either.

“He always says that 1860 is close to his heart.

That's ridiculous.

If it were like that, then he would take money into his hands," says Schmidt, for whom improvement is only in sight in the event of a separation: "Sixty would simply need a few major investors, a Munich company like BMW, to buy his shares from him.

Then you would finally be free from an investor like Ismaik.” (jb)
