The French women's biathlon team continues to shine.
After their medal raid at the Nove Mesto Worlds last month, the French biathletes continue their harvest of podiums at the World Cup.
This Friday evening, in the American resort of Soldier Hollow, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet won the sprint, her 5th success of the season.
The Frenchwoman, despite a shooting error, was the fastest, ahead of the leader of the World Cup, the Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, although perfect behind the rifle, by 13 seconds.
Another Tricolor completes the podium since the young Lou Jeanmonnot (25 years old), author of a flawless shooting, took third place in the race, 19 seconds behind.
Disappointment on the other hand for the quadruple World gold medalist Julia Simon, who missed three targets and only finished seventh at 1 minute and 15 seconds, which risks compromising her chances for the continuation this Sunday.
The Italian Lisa Vittozzi, also in the battle for the big crystal globe, finished fourth (+29″).
In the general classification of the World Cup, this victory allows Justine Braisaz-Bouchet to move from fourth to second place and make up part of her gap on the Norwegian even if she still has a disbursement of 89 points on the carrier yellow bib.
Julia Simon is fourth with 136 points with only four individual races remaining between now and the end of the season.
