Despite a committed performance, TSV 1860 Munich lost to Dynamo Dresden.

Abdenego Nankishi scored the Lions' only goal.

Dresden – damper or dent?

The 0-1 home defeat against Ulm was a new experience for the Giannikis Lions, who had previously been spoiled for success.

The team was committed to making amends - and the reaction on Friday evening was quite remarkable, even though in the end there were once again no points left.

With good luck, but no luck: TSV 1860 Munich lost to Dynamo Dresden

The defensively weakened team of Argirios Giannikis mastered the task against Dynamo Dresden, the most demanding away opponent in this 3rd league, well for a long time.

After falling behind early on, 1860 hit back with the first goal from Abdenego Nankishi (41st).

The guests also survived a period of pressure at the beginning of the second half with luck and skill.

Both were missing from Dynamo joker Lucas Cueto's winning goal, which Leroy Kwadwo deflected unstoppably (76').

Thanks to Munich's development help, Dresden is back at the top, 1860 remains in 12th place. “On the whole, we played a decent away game,” said Morris Schröter, the former Dresden player.

The evening had started unfavorably from 1860's perspective.

Although flu patient Julian Guttau was back on board, the gastrointestinal virus that had weakened Kilian Ludewig and Fynn Lakenmacher six days earlier had spread to Michael Glück.

“We left him in the hotel,” reported Giannikis, who was forced to rework his back four again.

Kwadwo moved inside, Fabian Greilinger rotated in.

At least he had a good game as a joker against Ulm.

Besides: it doesn't help.

But that didn't make the task any easier.

1860 loan Nankishi first hits the post and then into the goal

Not even because of the early goal that the Lions conceded.

Already in the eighth minute, after a series of corners from SG Dynamo, it hit Marco Hiller's box.

Niklas Hauptmann pulled a ball in front of the goal, Stefan Kutschke screwed himself up - no chance of defense for Verlaat, Hiller & Co. A deficit that stuck in the lions' clothes for a longer time.

Who knows what would have happened if Verlaat hadn't been standing on the goal line to prevent the score from making it 0-2 (32').

Or referee Max Burda didn't recognize Kutschke's offside position when Toni Zimmerschied hammered the ball into the Löwen goal (39').

A signal for 1860 to initiate something themselves.

Schröter, previously stubborn, crossed in an exemplary manner into the middle.

Nankishi, who had already hit the crossbar, ran in.

Equalizer in the 41st minute – a bit lucky for 1860, but also a small reward for having fought through the intense game action by action.

Cueto's shot is decisively deflected

Dresden, too sluggish before the break, came out of the locker room with concentrated anger.

48th minute: Dennis Borkowski runs into Verlaat - not worthy of a penalty, although the Dynamo fans saw it differently.

54th minute: Verlaat is shot at short distance, his arm was slightly spread out - lucky for 1860 that the whistle remained silent again.

Another minute later: Zimmerschied hit the crossbar.

Take a breather!

1860 should not have complained about falling behind again at this stage.

The 1:2 came in a phase in which there were many signs that the points would be shared.

Zimmerschied strolled into the penalty area from the left and fed Cueto, whose harmless shot was deflected - and ultimately decided the game.

The fact that the Lions sniffed the equalizer twice in stoppage time, first through substitute Zwarts, then through Starke – a good sign.

Giannikis was able to leave the “hell of Saxony” with his head held high.

The lions are alive - even if it's not enough to reach the top.
