Baruch Shmailov continues to look great after returning to the mats.
The judoka who competes in a weight category of up to 66 kg and returned after almost a whole year in which he was sidelined since the long suspension he suffered (after not reporting his whereabouts to the International Testing Agency, contrary to the regulations), won today (Friday) in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Oper, Austria , in the silver medal and achieved a second medal in a row after winning the silver medal in Tashkent.
In the battle for the gold medal, Shmailov met the Japanese Keita Hadano, but after a great start to the fight when he was able to squeeze a penalty out of him, the 21-year-old succumbed to the gold score and finished in second place on the podium.
An impressive comeback.

Either way, he has already passed Tal Flickr in the rankings after the latter lost his first fight in Austria.
Meaning: Although he started the preparations for Paris at a relatively late stage, Shmailov is getting closer to getting the ticket to the Olympic Games.
