No return to school for the Blues this Friday.
While they were to participate in the WTCS (World Triathlon Championship Series) stage in Abu Dhabi this Friday, the French triathlon team will have to stay at the dock.
In a press release released this Friday morning, the International Triathlon Federation announced the cancellation of all events scheduled for this weekend: the elite men's race, the elite women's race, the mixed relay and the races reserved for paratriathletes.
The cause: particularly unfavorable weather.
“Heavy rain and thunderstorms” are expected in the area and all outdoor activities have been canceled by local authorities.

The Federation specifies that all the organizers tried “to organize at least the events planned for Friday March 8 in a secure and closed place”.
“This option was unfortunately not possible given the need for the region to prepare for adverse weather conditions,” we finally learned.

We will have to wait until May 11 and a stage of the world series in Yokohama (Japan) to find the entire French team.
Some may decide to return to school in the coming weeks.
Cassandre Beaugrand for the women, and Vincent Luis, for the men, are notably included on the start list for the European Cup in Quarteira (Portugal), scheduled for March 23.
