The Pelicans went into the break with a lead of 32 points after a predatory first half in which they already led by 35 points.
Philadelphia, without Tyrese Maxey who is recovering from a head injury and missed a consecutive negative game, received boos from their home crowd and in response showed character when they managed to narrow the gap to only 5 in the last minute of the game, but there was not enough time for them to complete the comeback and they suffered the loss -11 in 17 games since Joel Embiid's injury.
Zion Williamson stood out with 23 points and 12 rebounds for New Orleans, which has won three in a row.
On the losing side, Tobias Harris finished with 21 and 10 respectively.

Last Tuesday, Cleveland stopped Boston's winning streak, which was the longest in the league.
Tonight, the second-ranked team in the East won another top battle against its counterpart from the West and suffered an away loss to the best away team in the league.
Darius Garland (34) and Jarrett Allen (33) combined for 67 points, to make up for the absence of the injured Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
Garland's free throw made it 97:97 at the end of the last quarter and forced overtime, with the help of Rudy Gober, who received a technical foul after committing a sixth foul and responded with a mark that implied that the referee who whistled it to him was biased.
In Minnesota, which is missing Karl-Anthony Towns who injured his knee, Naz Reed scored a career-high 34 points and Anthony Edwards was stopped at 19.
New York (26:37) - Orlando (27:37) 74:98
The Magic's five-game winning streak has ended Precisely in the hands of whoever may be her opponent in the first round of the playoffs, and fighting against her for the home advantage in that series.
It was a statement of intent from the Knicks, who had lost the three previous meetings between the teams this season.
New York held Orlando to the fewest points per game of any NBA team this season, in the team's best defensive showing since April 2012. An 8/9 3-for-3 start helped the Knicks get off to a strong start and never trail throughout the contest.
The one who was a star in the ranks of the host was Jaylen Bronson who scored 26 points, Josh Hart added 19 and Perches Echiwa scored 15 along with 14 rebounds.
Paolo Bancro finished with 23 points and 9 rebounds on the other side.

Memphis' missing roster gave way, but succumbed to a wonderful performance by Dejontae Murray who equaled his career high with 41 points, to which he added 7 rebounds and 6 assists to to lead Atlanta to their fifth win in seven games.
The guard provided an excellent shooting night with 11/15 for 2 and 6/10 for 3.
The Grizzlies got 21 points and 9 rebounds from Jaren Jackson, but dropped a two-game winning streak.
Oklahoma (19:44) - Miami (28:35) 100:107
For the 14th time this season, the Thunder won a game in which they trailed by 10 points or more.
Not surprisingly, leading them there was Shea Gilges-Alexander, who scored 23 of his game-high 37 points in the second half to put OKC atop the Western Conference after the Minnesota loss.
Miami led by 10 at halftime and had a game-high 14 points, but suffered its second straight loss after falling to Dallas the night before.
Jaime Hax scored 25 points, Jimmy Butler tickled a triple-double with 20, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

The ankle injury that has plagued LeBron James throughout the season prevented him from playing tonight, but DeAngelo Russell took command against one of the strongest opponents the NBA has to offer.
"D-Lo" became the first player in league history to record a game with 9 3-pointers for three different teams (he did it in Brooklyn and Golden State in the past), scored 21 points in the second half on his way to 44 in total, and he capped that performance with a game-winning basket as 6 seconds to go.
In the last move, Spencer Dinwiddie made a great block on Damian Lillard's shot attempt from half distance, and the Lakers celebrated a prestigious victory.
Lillard passed Reggie Miller and moved into fourth place on the league's all-time 3-pointers list, with 2,561 total.
Lillard hit 4 three-pointers and finished with 28 points along with 12 assists, with Giannis Antetokounmpo recording a triple-double of 34 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists of his own, but Milwaukee suffered its second straight loss.
Anthony Davis provided 22 points and 13 rebounds, Austin Reeves contributed 18 and 7 assists to the Lakers.
Portland (45:17) - Houston (35:28) 123:107
Portland hit 12 three-pointers in the first half, but after the break added only 4 more and Houston erased a double-digit deficit through the defense, when after 63 points it conceded in the first two quarters, it stopped the Blazers on 44 in the second half.
Jaylen Green scored 27 points for the Rockets and led a list of six players in double figures, which also included Alfern Shannon with 19 and Fred VanVleet with 18 and 10 assists.
Delano Benton had 30 points for the losing side.
