The most publicized trainer in French MMA, Fernand Lopez has just completed a royal week.
On Thursday, his protégé Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov won his highly scrutinized fight against Cédric Doumbè, taking advantage of a controversial arbitration decision.
The next day, he was able to see several of his protégés, including Jordan Zebo, shine at ARES 19, in Aubervilliers... Which offered him an ideal platform to speak about the future of Baki.
At the microphone of RMC, the founder of the MMA Factory expressed particular reservations about a possible revenge for Baki against Doumbè, which the latter had requested immediately after the end of the fight.
“It’s not in his interest,” he said, speaking from the point of view of Baki, his athlete.
We are far from that.
We will see what will come his way and then we will decide for his future.

“Closer to a Doumbè-Zébo revenge”
“We are closer to having a Doumbè-Zébo rematch than the Doumbè-Baki rematch,” Lopez even clarified, eager to offer a new chance to his welterweight, although he was wiped out in 9 seconds by “The Best” on September 30 last year.
Asked about his future immediately after his victory, Baki for his part did not rule out a rematch, however demanding a larger venue and that the PFL “line up the tickets”.

Whatever the final decision made by the Frenchman's clan, one thing is certain: Lopez will not let anyone discredit Baki's victory this week.
“Everyone who knows MMA knows that it is legitimate,” he assured.
The referee regulates and as long as he doesn't say stop... Even Baysangur should have continued to box but he is a gentleman and correct.
There is no debate, it is a deserved victory.
