She has dominated her sport for years - yet only a few people know her.
Snowboarder Ramona Hofmeister calls for a rethink.
Winterberg - "I'm just a competitive pig," says Ramona Hofmeister about herself. Her season so far couldn't have gone better: Germany's best snowboarder won five of the 13 races this season and was on the podium in three more.
She only missed the top five twice.

Ramona Hofmeister is Germany's snowboard queen
She already has her fourth overall World Cup victory under her belt.
At the weekend in Winterberg she even achieved the historic triple and secured the third of three snowboard crystal balls.
By reaching the quarterfinals in the parallel slalom, her overall victory in this non-Olympic discipline could no longer be taken away from her.
She is the first German to win all three balls in one season.
The problem: Hardly anyone notices it.
Hofmeister is the most successful German winter sports athlete this season and in recent years.
Nevertheless, as a powerful driving force, she does not manage to increase the presence of her sport.
Snowboard competitions are rarely shown on TV.
Ramona Hofmeister has already had many pleasant acquaintances with crystal balls.

“I don’t know what to do anymore”: Snowboarder Hofmeister angry about the lack of TV presence
By far the largest parts of the broadcast time are taken up by biathlon, ski jumping and alpine skiing - snowboarding gets the short end of the stick.
Hofmeister, who recently experienced a strange doping test with a pineapple on her head, is annoyed by this.
“Of course I think it’s stupid and I’m starting to not know what else to do.
The TV times are just a big negative,” she told

Just like other athletes in her disciplines, she longs for more media attention.
The fact that so few winter sports fans were able to see their success was “a bit sad”.
She wants changes.
“We are a sport that is simply part of a classic winter sports Sunday, especially because we are so successful,” she emphasizes.
