the 33-year-old, who won two world championship titles and one Olympic silver medal during her active career, outlines the difficulties that come with combining a sports career and family.

The once successful winter sports athlete and wife of Felix Neureuther became a mother for the first time in 2017 and now looks after two daughters and a son.

Miriam Neureuther: “The door is still closed for mothers in winter sports”

Neureuther specified her impression in the interview and explained: “For example, many people told me that I was welcome at any time.

But without my child.

And I didn't want that, I had a child to be a mom.

I find it very difficult to have a career and being a mother on equal terms.”

Although she thinks it's good that well-known sports stars like Angelique Kerber made a timely comeback after the birth of their child, in her case the conditions seem to be different: "For mothers in winter sports, however, the door is still relatively closed, At least in Germany.” Felix Neureuther recently spoke about their children and the topic of raising children in a TV show.
