The goals in Manchester City's 1:1 draw against Liverpool/Sport1
The match of the Premier League promised and also took place tonight (Sunday), and in the end the winner between Liverpool and Manchester City is actually Arsenal, who remained at the top after the 1:1 draw at Anfield.
The Gunners lead Liverpool on goal difference, and are now a point clear of Pep Guardiola.
John Stones scored first (23) after a wonderful corner, but Ederson caused a penalty, was injured and saw Alexis McAllister equalize (50) from the penalty spot.
This interrupted the winning streaks of both teams - the champion was stopped after five such in all frames, Jurgen Klopp after seven such in all frames, even though his team was much better in the second half.
In England they continued to praise Kevin de Brauna, who provides week after week magic moment after magic moment.
"It was just pure genius from him," Gary Neville said of the corner that set up the go-ahead goal.
"How did he see the run by Stones? It's something they worked on, things like that don't just happen. Nathan Ake blocked Alexis McAllister, but De Brauna's ball is just beautiful."
However, in the 69th minute De Brauna went down to the bench in favor of Mateo Kovacic, in Guardiola's attempt to deal with Liverpool's clear control in the center of the field.
"If you want to understand how dominant Liverpool is, Guardiola is ready to sacrifice De Brauna. He's angry, he's really angry," analyzed Gary Neville, and indeed, the Belgian was seen exchanging words with Pep on his way to the bench, and the two had a dense conversation even minutes after the substitution.
"It's a very strange substitution," claimed former Chelsea player Pat Nevin.
"Bernardo Silva should have come off. Kevin's reaction is also very unusual for a substitute."

It was the debut goal of the season for John Stones, who found the net for the first time since April 2023 (then it was against Arsenal, so he is used to scoring in big games).
De Brauna signed 12 assists in only 14 games this season.
Only Pascal Gros made more (13 in 36 games).
The Belgian genius has been involved in 13 games in his 12 appearances in 2024 - the most of any Premier League player this year.
In the first half, Darwin Nunes was caught in his 23rd tackle of the season - more than any other Premier League player.
Nunes was caught in the gap twice already in the first 20 minutes of the game.
For comparison, until that moment, Erling Holland was caught in only one difference all season within the Premier League.
Alexis McAllister who is in excellent form is responsible for seven goals (scoring or assisting) in his last seven games.
Liverpool have received eight penalties this season - more than any other Premier League team.
Ederson saved the first two penalties kicked against him in the Premier League.
Since then, in the next 22 times, he has conceded 21 times.
The last time City scored first and did not win a league game was in January 2023, against Manchester United.
Since then, 34 consecutive games have passed.
