Three-pack against Mainz brings Kane closer to Lewandowski's record
The mood at FC Bayern was great after the 8-1 win against Mainz.
Coach Thomas Tuchel probably had little to complain about the team's performance.
Harry Kane also made sure of this, scoring goals of the season 28, 29 and 30 with his hat-trick.
With his strike rate (1.2 goals per game), the Englishman is following in the footsteps of Robert Lewandowski.
He set a Bundesliga record with his 41 goals in the 2020/21 season.
That made a goal rate of 1.4 in 29 appearances.
When asked about the goals scored, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel believes his protégé can still achieve the record: “I trust Harry with everything, he does what he always does – in his entire career.” Harry Kane still has nine games left.
At least in terms of goals in the first half of the season, Kane was able to draw level with Lewandowski.
Both Kane in the current first series and Lewandowski in 2020/21 scored 22 goals.
Despite a difficult season for FC Bayern, the collaboration between Harry Kane and Thomas Tuchel is going well.

Kane goals do not guarantee titles for FC Bayern
Now, being the undisputed top scorer doesn't guarantee titles.
Kane himself can bear witness to this best.
During his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Kane was top scorer in the Premier League three times, but Spurs never won a title.

It is obvious that Kane is not lacking in personal distinctions and qualities.
He actually wanted to get rid of the stigma that he was never able to win a title with a team at FC Bayern.
But after the Kane transfer, Munich's championship streak seems to be coming to an end.
Possibly also because those responsible focused too much on the striker during the transfer summer and neglected other positions.
