After the ninth home win of the season, Haching is in the fight for the relegation place in the 3rd league.
Coach Marc Unterberger is cautious.
Unterhaching/Munich – It was SpVgg Unterhaching’s third 1-0 home win this year.
With the three points, the promoted team has broken the 45-point mark and, with an 18-point lead over Waldhof Mannheim, is almost certain of staying in the league.
The team in the suburb can now look up and dream of taking part in the DFB Cup or even promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
“If we are in the comfortable situation that something is possible, we will come up with a plan and prepare for the end of the season.”
Marc Unterberger
After the narrow success against the Zebras, Haching coach Marc Unterberger did not want to be persuaded to declare war in an interview with Magenta Sport.
“If they win, that’s okay.
If you leave the points behind, that’s okay,” he said, referring to the competition for third and fourth place.
“We'll see what it's enough for in the end.” Nevertheless, the 35-year-old is sure that his team will score points in the coming weeks: “If we win our games, like we did today, then we'll certainly be more than that Get 46 points.
I believe the team is capable of achieving a lot.”
At the press conference a little later, Unterberger was a bit more offensive.
“We now have 46 points at a time that is unbelievable for us given the conditions in the summer.
We enjoy it,” admitted the aspiring football teacher.
Unterberger may only want to redefine his goals after the upcoming game in Sandhausen.
“We have a series, a little flow.
We can compete for the top places, but only if we do our homework.
If we are in the comfortable situation that something is possible, we will come up with a plan and prepare for the end of the season.”
Match winner Sebastian Maier announces a visit to the strong beer festival on the Nockherberg
Sebastian Maier, match winner of the game against Duisburg, confirmed that the team would visit the strong beer festival on the Nockherberg next week.
“It’s mainly about the team event.
That's what Haching is all about.
That’s what makes the team,” says Maier.
“It brings us together.
I think you see it week after week.”
If they manage to win next Sunday afternoon in Sandhausen, the suburbanites could consider the next date.
The spring festival will take place on the Theresienwiese from April 19th to May 5th - perhaps just in time for the final spurt in the fight for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
