Just 7 or 8 years ago, Célina Ould Hocine was still playing in the purple PUC jersey on the synthetic pitches bordering the Charléty stadium.
“At that time, I would not have imagined one day playing in the Champions League on the big stadium against Wolfsburg, Real Madrid or Chelsea,” smiles the 22-year-old central defender.
It all started for the woman who comes from an Algerian family (Algiers and Kabylie) at the bottom of her building in the Denfert Rochereau district (Paris 14th).
“I saw my brother and my cousin playing football downstairs, I went with them and I liked it,” she smiles.
I played like that for five years then my father enrolled me at the PUC.
I was with the boys on half court.
I was often told that I had the potential to go higher, so I continued.
