FC Bayern is looking for a new coach.
Dieter Hoeneß, brother of Munich Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, has a clear favorite.
Munich – FC Bayern is still looking for a new coach.
Even Munich's furious 8:1 (3:1) against Mainz 05 no longer reverses the decision to part ways with current coach Thomas Tuchel after this season.
FC Bayern coaching candidates: Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso is the favorite
There is a clear favorite for his successor: It is Xabi Alonso, former Munich player (2014 to 2017) and coach of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
On Sunday evening (March 10th), the “Werkself” won 2-0 (1-0) against VfL Wolfsburg and thus extended their lead over Bayern to ten points after 25 of 34 match days.
Dieter Hoeneß has now also clearly named Alonso as the favorite to succeed Tuchel.
“It is extremely important that you reach the players.
Xabi Alonso reaches the players.
You could already see that when he was a player here,” said the brother of FCB honorary president and former manager Uli Hoeneß at
Bild live
: “He has a natural authority and has gained great respect with his own career.
I am convinced that he would be the right one, even if the Leverkusen fans don’t want to hear that.”

Xabi Alonso: coaching candidate at FC Bayern and Liverpool FC
The Spaniard Alonso leads the Bundesliga with Leverkusen with 67 points.
The world and European champion is also traded at Liverpool FC, where he was under contract as a player between 2004 and 2009.
Alonso won the Champions League with the “Reds” in 2005 and still has a high reputation in the English club today.
LFC must find a successor to Jürgen Klopp, who is leaving on Merseyside after this season.
However, Hoeneß is “not convinced that he is going to Liverpool,” he said, without giving exact reasons for his thesis.
Hoeneß' son Sebastian was also considered a possible successor to Tuchel at Bayern.
The Munich native recently extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until the summer of 2027. Sebastian Hoeneß is playing a furious season with the Swabians and has the club dreaming of the Champions League in third place after 25 match days.

Were there also negotiations with the German record champions this time?

As

In any case, it remains exciting.
