The 2022 and 2023 editions were satisfactory.
Less than five months before the Olympics, the operation is relaunched.
This Thursday, March 14, the third edition of the “Relay around the world” – organized by the Ministry of Europe, that of Foreign Affairs and the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (COJO) – will take place.
This event takes the form of a virtual relay between the French embassies labeled “Terre de Jeux 2024”.
The 135 volunteer posts around the world will therefore organize activities related to sport, in the 9-10 hour period of their local time zone.
At the end of this slot, the relay is transmitted to another station, on another zone.
This will allow the event to last 24 hours.
All day long, publications will be available on social networks.

The aim of the operation is to mobilize the entire French diplomatic network in order to raise the temperature before the start of the Olympic Games.
This also allows foreign embassies and overseas territories to feel involved in the event, even far from Paris.
In 2023, 128 positions took part in this giant relay, and more than 16,000 participants were recorded.
In France, the event will consist of a running race through several Olympic sites, such as Les Invalides, the Grand Palais, Place de la Concorde or Trocadéro.
This will take place from 9 to 10 a.m., then another event will be organized by the French Table Tennis Federation at the Convention site.

Athletes were also invited to participate in the event.
In Togo, for example, Benjamin Boukpéti

canoe-kayak bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, will be present.
On the menu: kayak and traditional canoe races.
In Croatia, an ascent of the Medvednica mountain will take place, up to the summit of Sljeme and its 1,032 m altitude.
