Munich – The death of world champion Andreas Brehme left football Germany in deep mourning.
The long-time national player's funeral took place on Tuesday (March 12th).
DFB legend Rudi Völler also took part - and said an emotional farewell to his friend.
The current sports director even shed tears during his speech.

According to information from the

newspaper, Brehme was buried on Tuesday at the Ostfriedhof in the Giesing district of Munich.
200 invited companions and acquaintances paid their last respects to the winning goalscorer of the 1990 World Cup final.
Among them were Lothar Matthäus, Michael Ballack, Guido Buchwald, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeneß, several top-class players in German football.

Rudi Völler, who was fouled before the decisive penalty in the 1990 final against Argentina, also spoke some touching words at the memorial service.
He gave us a goosebumps moment: “Andi cannot be reduced to the penalty.
“With his inimitable laugh, he could lighten up even the worst mood,” Völler is
said to have said through tears, according to
Bild .
“I miss you,” the 63-year-old concluded.
