FC Bayern's U19s welcome Olympiacos Piraeus in the Youth League on Tuesday.

The amateurs will be on campus to support.

Munich – The time has come on Tuesday afternoon.

FC Bayern Munich's U19s will face Olympiacos Piraeus in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League.

The whole club is hot.

The Bayern amateurs will also travel to campus to support the juniors in the historic game.

The record champions' A-Juniors have never been in the last eight in this competition.

It is not for nothing that Halil Altintop, athletic director on campus, speaks of the “biggest game in the short history of the campus.”

“The boys are incredibly hot,” says FC Bayern II captain Timo Kern. Last Friday, seven players who are also eligible to play in the A-youth team were in Holger Seitz’s starting line-up in the win against DJK Vilzing.

On Tuesday, the protégés will be on the pitch against the Greeks and will try to help the team reach the semi-final tournament.

One of the outstanding players in the Youth League round of 16 against Feyenoord Rotterdam was Lovro Zvonarek.

The midfielder will lead the team back onto the field against Olympiakos.

“It's not for nothing that he's a regular with the professionals,” says Seitz about the 18-year-old, who celebrated his Bundesliga debut against FC Augsburg.

The goal for the home game against Olympiacos is clear – to reach the semi-final tournament in Nyon.

Altintop emphasizes that getting into the last four would be an exclamation mark for German football as a whole: “The players are gaining important experience for their future path.” In addition to Bayern, 1. FSV Mainz 05 is also represented in the competition.

After the 4-1 win at the weekend against 1. FC Nürnberg, the dress rehearsal for the showdown on Tuesday was a success.

How far the journey goes in this year's Youth League season will be decided tomorrow from 4 p.m. - in 90 or 120 minutes.
