New friend for Dani Avdia: Partizan Belgrade center Tristan Vaccevic will join the Washington Wizards by exercising his NBA exit clause.
Vukcevic, who plays the positions of power forward and center and celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday (Monday), was selected by Washington in the 42nd place in the last draft.
According to a report in Serbia, the player's homeland, the Wizards paid $1.2 million for the release of his contract, with half of the amount deposited with Partizan and the remaining 50 percent into the coffers of Real Madrid, in which Vacevich began his career in 2019 after joining the team a year before Up to the age of 16 of the club.
Vukcevic, who joined Partizan in January 2022, averaged 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12 Euroleague appearances for the Serbs this season.

Reporter Josh Robbins, who covers Washington in the United States, explained that the Wizards did not add Vuccevic at the beginning of the season because the roster was busy, and that in the meantime the player received minutes at Partizan that contributed more to his development.
Beyond that, Avdia's arrival to the team about a month before the NBA season ends stems from a desire to start preparing him physically for the next season from an earlier stage.
