Aleksander Aamodt Kilde's girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin revealed how serious things really were for the ski dominator after the bad fall in January.
Åre – Mikaela Shiffrin is back in the World Cup.
After her serious fall in Cortina d'Ampezzo at the end of January, the American celebrated her comeback in Åre.
In Sweden, however, the 28-year-old will only compete in the slalom on Sunday.
The ski superstar will also forego the speed races at the World Cup finals in Saalbach (AUT).
Shiffrin's friend Kilde continues to work on his comeback
But Shiffrin is back on skis.
Something that her boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde can only dream of so far.
The Norwegian had a serious fall in Wengen a few weeks before Shiffrin's accident and has been working on his comeback ever since.
The speed specialist is far from thinking about skiing.
Because Kilde's rehabilitation is going much slower than that of his partner.
After his fall, the 31-year-old was confined to a wheelchair for weeks and there was also talk of the end of his career.

Shiffrin gives disturbing insights into the fall of Kilde
Before her comeback, her friend Shiffrin explained that things could have been much worse.
“In the first few hours after the accident it was a matter of life and death,” said the 28-year-old during a virtual media round.
“You have no experience with something like that.
For the first two weeks he couldn't get up or go to the toilet.
He has a long way to go, but he’s getting better.”
After learning about the fall, Shiffrin immediately knew that she had to visit her partner quickly.
The 28-year-old immediately traveled to Innsbruck, where the Norwegian was operated on.
Kilde suffered a deep cut in his calf, but was able to count on the support of Shiffrin.

Kilde is no longer confined to a wheelchair
It was only on Friday (March 8th) that the Norwegian spoke out on Instagram and explained that he has no longer been dependent on a wheelchair since last week.
But Kilde also said that it is currently difficult to imagine ever skiing again.
His girlfriend has already managed that after her fall and Kilde will hopefully follow her back onto the slopes soon.
