The Cergy-Pontoise Jokers are almost there.
After winning the third match of the quarter-finals of the playoffs on Tuesday against Angers (3-0), the Ile-de-France residents produced another great performance this Wednesday evening.
Trailing at the start of the first period, the Jokers quickly reversed the trend, to finally logically win (3-1).
A success which allows them to get closer to an achievement - they finished in 7th place in the regular season and Angers in 2nd position - and a qualification for the last four of the Magnus League.
Sayam Limtong, Gage Torrel and Théo Gueurif were the scorers in this meeting.
If the Jokers led 2-1 in the second half, the suspense will have lasted almost until the siren.
Gueurif scoring the liberating goal three minutes from the end of the match.
The Aren'Ice audience could exult.
Thanks to this success, the Cergy-Pontoise Jokers are only one victory away from the semi-finals.
Last Friday, they won in Anjou (1-3), before losing largely the next day (5-2).
They then won their two home matches.
The series will now return to Angers for a match.
If Cergy does not win, it will have another opportunity to qualify for the final four on its ice rink on March 18 during match 6. If the two teams are tied, they will face each other in a beautiful decisive match at Angers on March 20.
