Sean O'Malley put on a show at UFC 299, striking Chito Vera hard and winning after five rounds, but admitted afterward that he was stunned by Vera's ability to absorb all the punches, including what has been billed as "one of the deadliest knees in UFC history."

With just over a minute left in the second round, O'Malley landed a powerful knee at Vera just as he lowered his head, a blow that reverberated, literally.

Replays showed how O'Malley's knee lined up perfectly to Warsaw's face, which somehow absorbed it.

O'Malley admits: it made him feel slightly nauseous.

"I'd love to know if he broke something in his face with that knee," O'Malley said, "That was the loudest pop I've ever heard in a mecca getting dressed. It was actually a nasty feeling. It was bad. I'd love to see a picture of his face today."

Vera did not post pictures of him after the fight, but in an interview with Joe Rogan at the end it was possible to see that his face was already swollen with numerous cuts and bruises from the punch.

O'Malley knows it's all part of working in the UFC.

"After that I was just so excited to put my hands on him, kick his ass," O'Malley said.

"It's a weird thing. And then you hear someone like Dustin Fourier talk about how bad he felt, trash, after the Justin Gaichi fight. I'm sure Chito is dealing with some crap right now. So there's a part of me that feels bad for him, And of course I caused it, but this is the game, the world of battles."
