Emmanuel Meafou, a 25-year-old Golgoth born in New Zealand to Samoan parents, grew up in Australia, but he chose France to flourish.
On the “island continent”, his future was blocked, he linked small clubs but did not interest the franchises which compete in Super Rugby, the flagship competition of the Southern hemisphere.
He then thought about trying American football where, with his XXL measurements (he was 2.03 m tall and weighed 180 kg at the time) he could do a lot of damage.
His agent does not despair and sends videos of him to rugby clubs around the world.
Notably Stade Toulousain, always a pioneer in unearthing talent, is giving it a try.
In 2018, alone, far from his family, Meafou joined the training center of the most successful club in France (22) and Europe (5).
