Biathlon superstar Dorothea Wierer was a guest on a TV show and made a strange appearance - including a rifle.
Rome – Dorothea Wierer is one of the most famous personalities in the sport of biathlon.
The South Tyrolean is always a welcome guest on Italian TV shows.
Now she was invited to the show “Stasera c'è Cattelan”, which can be seen on the TV channel Rai.
It is one of the most popular and wide-reaching late night shows in all of Italy.
Biathlon superstar with a strange TV appearance
In the show, the 33-year-old brought the audience closer to her sport - albeit in a strange way.
Wierer fired a laser rifle at a target in the studio held by a naked man.
Undeterred, she hit all five targets and received plenty of applause.
She was then asked by the show's host about her sporting future.
“I am 33 years old.
Some biathletes stopped at 30, some at 35. I haven't decided what to do next.
The Olympic Games on our own doorstep would of course be nice, but we're still two years away.
We’ll see, first I’ll take a vacation,” replied Wierer.

The 2023/24 season, which Wierer ended early, was not a good one because the 33-year-old fell ill several times and was unable to build up the form she needed to be at the forefront.
“You don't get back in shape so quickly if you've been sick for a long time,” the former biathlon world champion explained to the online portal
SportNews before the World Championships in Nove Mesto.
Biathlon ace Wierer about to retire?
In the summer, the South Tyrolean will think intensively about whether she wants to continue doing competitive sports or simply put the rifle in the corner.
“I'm always torn between the idea of continuing and the idea of quitting.
Of course I would prefer to stay at home more and lead a normal life, but I still like training and competing,” said Wierer a few weeks ago in an interview with the South Tyrolean newspaper

Family planning will be a priority for Wierer in the future, which is closely linked to the continuation of her career.
Both together are not an option for the 33-year-old.
“I don’t see myself in a dual role as mother and athlete,” says Wierer, who only wants to have children after her career ends.
