Just a few hours after being called up to the French team by Didier Deschamps, Mike Maignan had to leave his opponents in the middle of the match during AC Milan's match against Slavia Prague.
The 28-year-old international goalkeeper was injured in the knee after a collision with an opposing striker after just three minutes of play.
After lacking control on a back pass from Theo Hernandez, Maignan rushed towards the ball and was struck in the right knee.
Strapped, he initially regained his place, even made a superb save in the 13th minute but he was finally replaced by Marco Sportiello (21st).
🤕 Loaded at the knee, on the Slavia Prague pitch, Blues goalkeeper Mike Maignan was forced to give up his place.

According to our information, the Frenchman must undergo examinations this Friday in order to know the nature of his injury and the duration of possible unavailability, but the first findings within the club were intended to be rather reassuring.
In the event that he cannot respond favorably to the summons of Didier Deschamps for the two friendly matches against Germany (March 23) then Chile (March 26), his absence will be filled.
Lucas Chevalier is one of the expected players.
