Julian Nagelsmann today nominates the DFB squad for the last international matches before the European Championship.

Is Jan Niklas Beste there?

The player knows nothing about it.

Frankfurt – On Thursday (March 14th), national coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated the DFB squad for the last international matches before the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

Supposedly there will be a surprise.

Because

Sky

reports that Heidenheim's Jan-Niklas Beste will also be nominated.

However, the player knows nothing about it.

Jan-Niklas Beste denies rumors about his DFB debut

After the 0-1 defeat on Saturday (March 9th), he clearly rejected the rumors.

“Can I still laugh about it because there has been no conversation with the national coach in the last week or two,” said Beste in ZDF’s

current sports studio

– and was self-critical.

“I think after today you can see that there is still a lot missing for the national team.

I haven't played a season in the Bundesliga yet and then you're directly associated with the national team.

I think it’s a little too early.”

Jan-Niklas Beste in the DFB team: Will Julian Nagelsmann cause a surprise?

Sky

reported at the weekend that Beste would be nominated for the DFB squad for the international matches against France (March 23) and the Netherlands (March 26).

The 25-year-old midfielder has contributed seven goals and ten assists in his first Bundesliga season so far and is one of the top performers in the promoted team.

Heidenheim boss Holger Sanwald was still keeping a low profile on

Sky

.

“I'm obviously keeping my fingers crossed for Nicki that he'll be nominated.

That would be a huge thing for him and also for our club.

He deserved it and would be good for the national team.

He has all the virtues that the DFB team can use.

But ultimately only Nicki and Julian know,” he said.

Heidenheim's coach Frank Schmidt also didn't want to say anything concrete in ZDF's

Current Sports Studio

: "Let's wait and see, he's having a really good season." And who knows, maybe coach Julian Nagelsmann might even surprise Jan-Niklas Beste himself with a nomination on Thursday.
