Carlos Alcaraz, ranked 2nd in the world, advanced tonight (between Thursday and Friday) to the semifinals of the Indian Wells tournament, where he will face Yannick Siner, winner of the Australian Open.
The Spaniard did not have a hard time and beat the German Alexander Zverev 3:6, 1:6, but during the third set, the match had to be stopped for almost two hours due to a rather bizarre reason that ended with the bite of Alcraz.
This is not a sarcastic sting towards Zverev of the Spanish tennis player, but a real bee sting.
"I saw a few bees around, but I thought it was just a few. I raised my head and there were thousands flying into my hair," Alcaras said of the frightening moments.
"I'm a little afraid of bees, I had to stay safe and ran everywhere. It was crazy, I tried to get away from them, but there were so many and I ran everywhere."

As mentioned, during the third game of the quarter-finals, a swarm of bees entered the stadium and sat on the "spider" camera which moved above the field using cables.
Following a lot of panic and the "bee attack" on the field, the game was stopped for an hour and 40 minutes until the beekeeper of the tournament arrived and vacuumed the bees from the camera, which solved the problem.
