What's next for him in the summer?

Uncertain!

Kilian Ludewig has experienced a lot.

In the interview, the loan lion talks about his year at 1860, the Wandervogel stamp and sporting goals.

Munich - In the 1:2 in Dresden he played one of his best games in the TSV 1860 jersey. Kilian Ludewig, a long-time runner at the back right in the back four, is getting better and better with the Lions.

A bench warmer at most until the end of October, the Hamburg player is now showing week after week what he can do - and why he came onto the radar of the Red Bull Group as a youth player, first in Leipzig, then in Salzburg (contract until 2025).

Ludewig's inherent dynamism also made him interesting to the DFB early on, for whom he was part of every selection from the U16 to the U21.

Ludewig's biggest problem: The Lions are already his fifth temporary employer; he has already played on loan in England (Barnsley FC), North Rhine-Westphalia (Schalke), the Netherlands (Willem II) and Denmark (Aalborg).

Wouldn't it make sense to stay in Munich longer now that things are going right now?

Our interview with a 24-year-old reluctant wanderer.

“He pushes us, holds the shop together at the back, talks a lot, approaches everyone.”

Kilian Ludewig about captain Jesper Verlaat.

Captain Jesper Verlaat extended his contract with 1860 on Wednesday evening - as head of the back four, he works closely with you.

How did you and the team receive the news?

Very positive.

Regardless of the fact that the captain stays on board, I'm happy for him, for the team, the fans and for the whole club.

How important is Verlaat for this team, athletically, personally, but also as a mouthpiece and leader?

Very important!

He pushes us, holds the shop together at the back, talks a lot, approaches everyone.

When I was new, I arrived relatively late in the evening.

Jess was still here at the training center.

We immediately had a super nice conversation, he welcomed me with open arms - that was very helpful.

“But then I stepped on the gas and fought my way in.”

Kilian Ludewig about his initial difficulties at TSV 1860.

Your loan contract with 1860 also expires in June.

Let me ask you directly: How keen would you be to stay longer?

Large!

I feel very, very comfortable here at the moment.

It's a lot of fun with the team right now.

It took some time for you to gain a foothold in sports here.

By November you had only played three times and were often not even in the squad.

What was the reason?

I didn't know anyone - and things weren't going well.

But then I stepped on the gas and fought my way in.

Over time, don't you develop a routine of adapting?

1860 is already your fifth rental station.

That means: every summer a new cabin, new teammates, a new city.

.

.

No, unfortunately it's impossible to develop a routine.

It's always difficult to get used to a new club.

I can do it, but it just takes time.

You can't say that everything is always great for me from one day to the next.

I'm really pushing myself – for the team, for the club, for myself.”

Kilian Ludewig about his situation as a loan player.

Being loaned out somewhere means that you don't really belong.

How's that for the head?

I try to ignore it somehow, throw myself into it – for the team, for the club, for myself.

How would you like to get rid of the “wandering bird” stamp?

I'd love to.

Unfortunately, it has never happened that I was able to stay anywhere longer than a year.

“All in all, the years have shaped me, allowed me to mature and developed me as a person.”

Kilian Ludewig about the stages of his career so far.

But you have seen a lot: England, Denmark, Holland, the Ruhr area, Austria.

Not every 24-year-old can say that.

Where was it most beautiful?

Football-wise in England, I think I had my best time there.

Denmark was also very beautiful.

All in all, the years have shaped me, allowed me to mature and developed me as a person.

On the current sporting situation.

What happened to the team that caused their proud undefeated streak to break after eight games?

Not much actually.

We still played two good games, although we lost both unfortunately.

Nevertheless, we obviously want to do better in the next games.

“We have respect – but not fear.”

Kilian Ludewig before the game against Preußen Münster.

Against the top teams Ulm and Dresden there wasn't much left to gain a point.

What makes you confident that you will win against Münster at the third attempt?

Our performance – and the quality of the team.

In addition, every game starts at 0-0.

We have enough time to prove ourselves against a team from above.

Münster is certainly on a roll and we have respect - but not fear.

However, the next changes in the defense center are looming.

Captain Verlaat and new signing Max Reinthaler will be out depending on the situation.

How much does this weaken the team?

As captain, Jesper is an important player for us.

Max has also already proven his worth.

But if both are out, we will have such a good team on the pitch - one that gets stuck in, keeps Münster away from the goal and creates chances to score.

“I also feel comfortable in the south.

Especially here with the lakes it’s very bearable.”

Kilian Ludewig can imagine a future with the Lions.

Back to you.

What is your future career plan if you have to leave 1860 in the summer.

Do you see an opportunity to finally gain a foothold in Salzburg?

I can't say much about it at the moment.

I'm more concerned with the final spurt here at sixty - we'll see the rest.

How great is the longing to finally arrive somewhere or even settle down?

Very large.

And I'm open to everything.

I will never forget my northern German heart, but I also feel comfortable in the south.

Especially here with the lakes it is very bearable.

And despite everything, you are still young – only 24.

Yes, that's right.

We will see what happens.

But as I said: I feel extremely comfortable here at the moment.
