Former Bundesliga and national player André Hahn will be assistant coach in the youth team at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt – André Hahn hunted for goals in the Bundesliga for many years, but in 2023 he had to end his career due to an injury.

The 33-year-old then acquired the B license, laying the foundation for a career as a trainer.

Eintracht Frankfurt signs ex-professional as young coach

This was followed by a three-week internship at Riederwald, where he was able to get to know the youth performance center and the work in Eintracht's youth sector.

As the SGE has now confirmed, Hahn will be assistant coach of the U17 and strengthen the coaching team around Sebastian Haag from the new 2024/25 season.

“We are very happy that we were able to recruit André Hahn for our U17 coaching team.

As a long-time Bundesliga player, but also as a footballer who only made the jump to the professional level via a detour, he brings a lot of experience from which our talents can benefit,” explains Alexander Richter, head of Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth development center.

“We try to find a healthy mix in our coaching teams – coaches with the highest possible licenses or with their own career in professional football, sometimes both even go hand in hand.

This means we can cover different facets.

André fits perfectly into the current constellation, also because of his CV,” Richter continued.

Hahn is looking forward to his coaching job at Eintracht Frankfurt

Hahn is looking forward to his first job as a coach and is full of enthusiasm: “I know from my own experience how rocky the road can be and how hard you have to work as a young person to achieve your big dream of professional football.

I really appreciate having the opportunity to support Eintracht’s young talents and look forward to taking the next steps as a coach.”
